Position Information
Hiring Department: Hunt Institute
Posting End Date: Open until filled.
Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends
FLSA status: Non-exempt
Earliest Start Date: 01/15/2025
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

Purpose of Position
Essential Functions
Complies with Identity Guide established by University Communications.
Generates and produces printed and electronic promotional and informational materials, including posters, brochures, newsletters, fliers, booklets, nametags, invitations, presentations, factsheets, maps, visual aids for reports, and other various requested materials.
Prepares presentations, illustrations, or rough sketches of material.
Studies illustrations, photographs, and text to plan presentation of material, product, or service.
Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and creates sample layouts.
Maintains inventory; researches technology; evaluates proposals acts as vendor and printer liaison.
Acts as technical liaison; assists with technical issues of presentations; advises and troubleshoots information technology.
Presents samples to supervisor or client for selection and approval.
Reviews final layout and suggests improvements as needed, and presents final layout to supervisor or client for approval.
Prepares final layout for print on paper, film, disk, or other electronic format; checks proofs.
Reviews quality of final product before release to client.
Designs, maintains, and updates websites; may maintain web server.
Prepare, maintain, and update website materials, and update social media content
Assists in advertising strategy by researching and generating packets for distribution.
Maintains image resource files.
Photograph and video seminars and special events
Provide support for presentations
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Knowledge of all Adobe Creative software.
Familiarity with cartography and able to learn and use GIS software.
Understanding of marketing, website design, branding or corporate identity, and multimedia design.
Ability to collaborate in joint projects with outside agencies, art services, web designer, marketing agencies, printers, and colleagues as necessary.
Contribute to the success of the department by accomplishing tasks as needed.
Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
Flexibility and team-building abilities.
Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-pace.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Complies with all State and University policies.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from four year college or university within area of assigned responsibility
and
Experience: Two years of related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with graphic design software and publishing tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Knowledge of publishing platforms such as Cascade and ActiveCampaign.
Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
A strong eye for visual composition in accordance to the University and the Institute branding.
Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
