Job Summary:
The School of Dental Medicine (SDM), Department of Restorative is accepting applications for a Digital Dentistry Manager position. The Digital Dentistry Manager position will oversee the production and clinical education support areas of the digital dentistry program at the SDM. This position will manage the production lab team in collaboration with the Director of the Digital Dentistry Program to make decisions to enhance digital dentistry operations.
We are seeking professionals who are looking to serve as the subject matter expert and develop digital dentistry in academic dental medicine. The position is located at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours will be dependent on business need (i.e., academic education, clinic and patient needs, professional development), but typically will be Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Dentistry Production and Operations (60%)
- In collaboration with the Director of Digital Dentistry and SDM Leadership, develop and implement strategic growth initiatives within the educational programming and production lab expansion.
- Lead the production lab team of employees focused on in house laboratory production, Quality Assurance (QA), and digital education for predoctoral and postgraduate learners at SDM.
- Develop program to provide relevant hands-on training of team members to meet the evolving needs of the SDM Digital Dentistry Program.
- Oversee production of dental appliances utilizing various printing and milling digital technologies, equipment, department, clinic, and school business applications.
- Manage ordering and inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies related to digital dentistry.
- Manage acquisition, troubleshoot and coordinate maintenance and update of digital dentistry equipment.
- Verify, audit, correct, and process invoicing; submit invoicing and communicate discrepancies and corrections with stakeholders (i.e., vendors, faculty member, Finance & Accounting department).
- Manage and ensure compliance process with established protocols, standards, and regulations in all digital dentistry processes.
- Develop and manage workflows for dental implant grants, including application processes, placing orders, tracking of grant progress, and reporting.
- Identify and make recommendations to established protocols, standards, regulations, and records in all digital dentistry processes and maintenance.
Academic and Clinical Educational Support (40%)
- Collaborate with the Digital Dentistry Director, dental production technicians, and other departments and professionals to integrate digital dentistry techniques into the curriculum and clinical practice.
- Provide guidance and education on design and digital demonstrations, protocols, and procedures; maintain design and digital dentistry resources and documentation.
- Manage and oversee the digital dentistry group, organizing meetings, sharing updates, and fostering collaboration amongst team members regarding the latest developments and trends in digital dentistry technology.

Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus with the School of Dental Medicine.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in biological science, dental hygiene or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Substitution: Four years of related technical, paraprofessional, or professional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- 4 years of experience in dental production, digital dentistry or experience in computer-aided design and computer aided manufacturing.
- Completion of a Dental Lab Technician program (with certification), Certified Dental Technician or Master Dental Technician Certification.
- Experience with digital workflow software (i.e., 3Shape, DTX).
*Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in biological science, dental hygiene, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 7 years of experience in dental production and/or digital dentistry
- 3-5 years of experience with and knowledge of operating Dental Lab equipment and products, including removable and fixed dental products.
- Previous teaching experience in any area
- Certificate/ Advanced Training in Digital Dentistry Pathways/CAD-CAM design
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of professional standards, concepts, and practices of dental laboratories, production operations/workflows, technical dental knowledge, technologies, and materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Ability to use various business applications and technologies (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, survey tools, electronic health record systems and inventory management systems).
- Knowledge of standards, concepts and practices related to setting priorities, troubleshooting complexities, implementing policies, protocols, and workflows, and managing timelines and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
- Ability to take initiative with daily work activities and collaborates to create a positive effect on team performance.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range for this position has been established as: $83,171-$105,793
The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
